Desi was a spirited and healthy little girl that was a gifted athlete and a born leader with a tender heart. Throughout her short life, Desi touched many with her compassionate nature and her beautiful smile. Her life was full of hopes and dreams of an incredible future.
On February 22, 1997, Desi’s life changed when she was diagnosed with cancer. She received the best care from devoted doctors and nurses at City of Hope, and with her unconditional faith in God and her strong character enabled her to LIVE. She lived each day to the fullest and expressed a vision of helping others. Desi faced each treatment with unending courage and even a sense of humor.
Although cancer took Desi away, it was unable to take away her spirit. Through her hopes and dreams, The Desi Geestman Foundation came to life and now carries her spark and spreads her spirit of life to those it touches.
